DOES FILING BUSINESS DOCUMENTS LOOK LIKE THIS TO YOU?!?!
WE'RE HERE TO HELP!
The following resources are to assist you in taking the next step in becoming a TCPPA Professional member.
Federal Employer ID Number
An Employer Identification Number (EIN) is also known as a Federal Tax Identification Number, and is used to identify a business entity. This is a free service offered by the Internal Revenue Service and you can get your EIN immediately.
Selling photographic goods without charging sales tax is illegal.
Collecting sales tax without sending it to the Department of Revenue is illegal.
Sales & Use Tax Certificate
To sell a tangible product (such as photographs) in the state of Florida, a Sales Tax & Use Certificate of Registration from the Department of Revenue is required. Therefore to take full advantage of our Professional Membership option, you must provide a copy of your Certificate of Registration.
If you are just entering the photographic industry and do not yet have a Sales Tax Certificate, you may join under our Aspiring Professional category. It has limited benefits but allows you to take advantage of membership pricing on all events. As long as you are not yet selling your work, you may join the TCPPA as an Aspiring Professional (limited to 1 year).
This service is free. Prepare to answer several questions on the application, the biggest being if you’ll be operating as an Individual, Partnership, or Corporation. If you’re going to be an Individual (most of you will), you’ll only need your Social Security Number. If you’ll be registering as a Partnership or a Corporation, you’ll need to provide a Federal Employer Identification Number.
