Welcome to our New Member Spotlight ! Each month we will highlight on two of our newest members! Here is a short introduction with images from the artist! Thank you for becoming part of our photography family!
“While I have always loved to take pictures, my first photography class was taken when I was 19 at IRCC. But I would say I owe my full immersion in photography to my love for the English language. In High School I always knew I would go to UF for English. I had no back up plan because I knew in my gut I would be accepted (and not because of outstanding grades).
My first semester at UF I took Movies and Literature as a Narritive art. That was it. I was swept away in film and photography forever. After graduating from UF I put my dreams on hold and experienced life in new places.
It wasn’t until recently, after having my twin girls that I decided I better start doing what I love. I want to show my girls that they can do whatever they put their minds to and if they are passionate about what they do they will always feel fulfilled. So I’m starting my own photography business called Rhoads Film Co. I am currently doing family photos and births. But my possibilities are pretty open. I am also starting in real estate photography for a company called Brick City Photography.
Right now it’s all about figuring out how this single mom of twins is going to financially provide for her twins. For the future I have dreams of continuing and growing in photography and eventually creating documentaries for Rhoads Film Co. I’ve always been an anthropologist at heart so doing something long those lines would be a dream come true.”
